International Opportunities for Temple Social Work Students
Study Abroad in Germany
The School of Social Work has a student and professional development agreement with FHE University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in Erfurt, Germany. This agreement allows Temple undergraduate social work students to learn from the German social service experience and for German social work students to learn from the American experience. There are two opportunities through this agreement
- Study in Germany: Temple BSW students may attend FHE for one (fall) or two semesters as an exchange student. The Temple student would pay Temple tuition/fees and attend social work classes at FHE. Students attend the month long intensive German language session held before the start of their fall semester. Then Temple students take social work courses in the BSW program at the University of Applied Sciences.
- Summer visit to Germany: The 10 day summer trip to Germany consists of participation in discussions of social issues with German faculty/students, visits to German social service agencies and visits to historic sites in the Erfurt area.
