Biography

Scott Edward Rutledge is associate professor and assistant chair of Temple University’s School of Social Work. His research portfolio includes developing HIV prevention interventions for prisoners and African American gay/bisexual men, contextualizing and reducing AIDS stigma in health services, and understanding patterns of HIV disclosure in sexual situations. He teaches practice, HBSE in the health/mental heath specialization, a transition course for BSW students entering the advanced standing MSW program, HIV/AIDS & Social Work, and Integrative Seminar (the MSW capstone course). He completed his MSW in Integrated Practice at the University of Iowa and his PhD in Social Welfare at the University of Washington where he was an NIMH prevention science predoctoral trainee. His practice experience includes supervising foster care and adoption programs, HIV prevention counseling, and community planning for HIV prevention and AIDS care.
