Clinical Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (DOT)

Overview

Temple University offers an advanced Clinical Doctorate in Occupational Therapy Leadership (DOT) in its well-established post-professional program. The DOT is a 30 credit graduate program offered in a distance education format with two to three required in person meetings per year at our Center City Philadelphia campus. The program prepares therapists to be advanced clinical specialists, program developers, and clinical educators. A heavy emphasis is placed on the use of clinical research for evidence based practice.

Students have 21 credits of required coursework and 9 credits of specialty coursework in their area of clinical interest. The specialty clinical coursework can be interdisciplinary coursework or the professional enhancement course offerings within the department. Students can receive a Professional Enhancement Course Completion Certificate (see Professional Enhancement Course Completion Certificates) in a variety of areas through their specialty coursework while completing the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy
