Overview

The DPT program is an entry-level program designed to instruct students in diagnosis, examination, evaluation, and intervention of movement-related dysfunctions resulting from injury, disease, congenital or age-related disorders. The DPT program prepares the student to provide professional service in a variety of clinical and community settings including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, pediatric and geriatric settings, home health agencies, schools, sports, orthopedic settings and community agencies.

The program at Temple University is situated on the Health Science Campus which allows for multidisciplinary interactions with other healthcare providers. The education experienced is further enhanced by a new state of the art cadaver dissection laboratory, a clinical simulation laboratory and medical library. The 15 full-time faculty members consist of research and clinical track professors offering knowledge and clinical experience from relevant research and clinical viewpoints within a student-based customer service model.

There are a total of 42 weeks of full-time clinical internships available at over 300 sites nationwide to provide the student with hands-on instruction in a variety of clinical settings. In the final year of the program, students can expect exposure to clinical skills that go beyond those expected of entry-level practitioners. The program is three years in duration, full-time and year-round, beginning in July of each year.
