Health Information Management Department Programs
The Health Information Management Department offers an undergraduate degree in Health Information Management and a graduate degree in Health Informatics. The Health Information degrees allow you to combine your interests in health care, business, and information technology.
Health Information Management and Health Informatics professionals are responsible for the development and administration of health care data collection, reporting systems that ensure quality, integrity, availability, and preservation of data in support of patient safety, privacy, confidentiality and security. Health Information professionals have expertise in health informatics, which requires knowledge of clinical medicine, the electronic health record, coding and classifications systems, quality and human resource management, as well as ethical, legal, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. Graduates of the BS in HIM program are eligible to take the national certification examination and earn the Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credentials
The Health Informatics program is focused on information technology for the electronic health record, healthcare reimbursement, ethical, legal and advocacy aspects of the electronic health record, leadership, database design and analysis, standards in information systems, modeling, development, and management of information technology.

Tuition Support for Health Information Management and Health Informatics students with financial need
Tuition assistance and supportive services may be provided for current and new students in the Bachelors of Science in Health Information Management and Masters of Science in Health Informatics programs who are in financial need.
