Workforce Development Training Programs

The Center’s emphasis on workforce development began with the inauguration of Nixon and has continued throughout the life of the Center.  Today, CSPCD operates several workforce development programs geared to adults, and include:

  • Health Information Professions (HIP) Career Pathways Initiative for TANF Recipients and Other Low Income Individuals (funded by the U.S. Department of Human Services, Administration for Children and Youth) - This is a five-year demonstration project which started on September 30, 2010.
  • Technology Based Learning (TBL) Initiative (funded by the U.S. Department of Labor / Employment and Training Administration) which started in February 2009.
  • New Choices Career Development (NCCD) Program (funded by PA Women Works) which is for dislocated workers and which has been around for decades
