CPREP

CPREP develops nationally relevant policies, programs and practices that will enhance regional and national emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

CPREP conducts applied research and works with local and state stakeholders to further develop the Commonwealth’s emergency planning and response mechanisms.

Training activities include personal & family preparedness; business continuity planning for non-profit agencies; emergency management of special populations; risk communication; cultural competency and preparedness; disaster mental health and psychological first aid training

Research areas include perceptual mapping studies, population-based surveys on knowledge and concerns regarding emergencies, and the development of systems for mapping GIS data to assist emergency planning and response
