Temple MSW student helps fight hunger with Central Dauphin’s Power Pack program

Kate Hoffman, a Master of Social Work student at CPH, was featured in a recent article in The Patriot-News for her work with Central Dauphin School District’s Power Pack program. The program puts together backpacks full of food donated by community partners and distributes them to families in need. Over 300 students from seven elementary schools receive six to eight pounds of food each week, which their parents pick up from the program’s headquarters at Lawnton Elementary. Hoffman, who currently teaches special education at Central Dauphin East Middle School, is helping with Power Pack as part of her internship for her MSW at Temple.
