Social Work students travel to Germany

Six students from Temple University’s School of Social Work recently returned from a 10-day trip to Germany.

During their time abroad, the students visited a hospital in Leipzig to discuss health care policy issues with social work students and faculty from Germany, South Africa, Ukraine, Botswana and India.

The College of Health Professions and Social Work has a professional development agreement with FHE University of Applied Sciences Erfurt in Germany that allows Social Work students from Temple’s Main and Harrisburg campuses to participate in a semester- to year-long exchange program or a shorter summer trip.

This trip is led by Link Martin, MSW, CHPSW Assistant Dean of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Director of Temple University Harrisburg.

Says Martin about this year’s group of student travelers, “I received a lot of compliments on their attentiveness, good questions they asked, and general engagement with others at agencies and at presentations.”
